School Reunion
We’re grateful for the tiger in his ancient baseball shirt.
He’s still sliding into bases while we’re dishing out the dirt.
Non-Trumper against Trumper, human rightist against bigot,
all the ways we’ve grown apart, gushing from the spigot.
When the debate gets heated, he brings about a shift,
repeating old glories until we get his drift
and switch our conversation way back to the past
to all those high school memories that thankfully still last
and that turn the party back to what it should have been:
turning old friends back to what they all were way back when.
Prompts today are heater, party, grateful, tiger and shift. Image by Viktor Talashuk on Unsplash.
A very tactful and wise person

I’ve been the one who came from the furthest away at most of my school reunions, but I’ve come to every one possible..They are held every 5 years for the entire school and town as I was from a very small town with only 200 kids in the entire school systen–elementary through seniors.

Judy,
This is wonderful. I really like the ending. Just a fantastic poem.

I am not well right now, and with taking classes toward another Master’s degree, I don’t have the energy to blog, I plan to retain my domain and account, so that I can write later. I am having a bone marrow biopsy on March 16, because of fatigue and other issues, and I hope it pinpoints the problem for us. Overall, I am living my life each day as much as possible, trying to finally get rid of the cane from my back surgery. I am getting there a little each day.

Each thing in its time. You have a lot on your plate and are good to prioritize. Glad to hear how you are now and then, though. xoox
