Under the Snow Moon

Moon of Snow. Moon of Sand.
Under a bleached white moon I stand.
Starless night, all alone.
Cold as ice. Cold as bone.

Here the sandcrabs burrow deep,
where no predators can creep.
All these memories I keep.
Turn out lights. Go to sleep.

      It has been unbelievably cold here for the past week. World climate is going crazy! Our rainy season seems to have come on 6 months late as well after record high temps.

    I love your quadrille, Judy which is like an incantation, especially the ‘bleached white moon’ and the repetition in ‘Cold as ice. Cold as bone’, which made me shiver. Hibernation is so tempting.

    I have certainly been hibernating lately..some days staying huddled in bed under a down comforter to do my blog. Record-breaking cold temperatures here after months of record-breaking hot ones. Wish the Earth could get back to her former cycles.
