For Fibbing Friday, the definition task at hand is:
- Why does garlic repel vampires? It throws off their sense of smell, thus no “Fee fi fo fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman!.”
- What do you need to kill a werewolf? The present tense.
- What is the purpose of a Jack-o-lantern? To enable one to see to change a tire in the dark.
- What exactly is a ghoul? A rental trailer for ghosts.
- Why can’t vampires enter a home unless invited? Vampire etiquette.
- Why can’t vampires cross running water? Because they can’t catch it.
- What does a chupacabra eat? Father snakes.
- What is the name of the three-headed dog that guards the gates of the underworld? The Three Dog Knight
- Who are the Stygian Witches? Witches who hog all the brew.
- What alcoholic beverage is thought to be the true origin of witches’ brew? Any distilled “spirit.”

How I loved the idea of vampires when I was an adolescent. I wrote a short story about them…”three buckets of blood.” My vampires weren’t very sophisticated. I’d write an entirely different sort of story now.

Vampire movies were the only scary movies I could watch. Did you ever see the TV show about vampires from different periods of time sharing an apartment in Tasmania? I loved it. Can’t remember the name. It was a comedy.

I’m pretty sure you’re referring to “What We Do in the Shadows”, first made as a film by the inimitable Taika Waititi in 2014 (and set in New Zealand), and then continued as a TV series in 2019 (and set on Long Island). Yeah, I loved it as well.

The second series wasn’t as good as the first and I stopped watching it, but the first was amazing. Thanks for doing my research for me, Dux. I meant to look it up and got distracted by a newly hot-water-filled swimming pool.
