Water Whistles for RDP

These are all water whistlles. Fill them with water and blow in the tail and each creates bird songs.  You can vary the pitch and number of sounds produced by how hard you blow and in what sequence. The little one was a Cracker Jacks prize, I believe. I’ve had it since I was small. The others are Mexican handicrafts purchased at arts and crafts fairs.

Balconies (Sort of) for Lens Artists Challenge

This is the kissing alley in Guanajuato.. These two balconies were so close that lovers could lean across for a rendezvous. Legend says that a father killed his own daughter when he discovered she’d been meeting a young man below her in the social order from the balcony where you see the girl in this photo.

I must say that it was almost impossible for me to find photos with balconies. It seems they are not as common in the U.S. and Mexico as they are in Europe. That said, with the exception of the first photo which depicts the most famous balconies in Guanauato, I must admit these are probably all small second floor patios rather than balconies. Best I could do. I tried!! As for the Kissing Alley photo, Forgottenman found THIS link to a poem I wrote about it years ago and on that blog is also a link to the true story of the balcony and alley.
