Blank is the New Blank

I had to go through about ten blogs before finding words that made any sense at all.  This prompt, to go to your favorite blog and choose the fourth and fourteenth word and fill in the blanks  “(blank) is the new (blank)” is a good idea at first glance, but doesn’t really work unless you say choose the 4th and 14th noun or pronoun!  (“Is is the new and,”  “but is the new the???”  Just don’t work.  I think this was Jennifer’s blog I got my words from, but my Reader fast forwarded and I couldn’t find it again and I have to leave for camp, so here it is for what it is worth.  I’ll post later this afternoon when I get home!!

“You” is the new “that.”

Sounds to me like it is the end of the relationship!

More Zinnias!!! Cee’s Flower of the Day Prompt, July 30

IMG_2534 IMG_2536 IMG_2538 (1) IMG_2539I so rarely get down to the garden when all the zinnias are fresh and unmarked that I just had to make them my flower of the day once again.  They are so perfectly perky that if they were humans, they’d be annoying, but since they are just flowers, they earned my undivided admiration.

Ajijic Camp Estrella

Finally, I had time to take some pictures today.  The experience in Ajijic has been very different from the one in San Juan Cosala.  I’ll let the pictures stand on their own and see if you can see the contrasts.

Morrie! I’m home!!!!

IMG_2622I see you’ve rearranged your room again.  Moved your cage closer to the view?  Wonder what the green fluffy stuff is.

IMG_2624Seems to be more of it over in your bed, which you’ve moved out of the cage and closer to the bathroom.  Oh.

IMG_2623So the green fluffy stuff is your bed–or at least part of it!  Why would they stuff a dog bed with green stuffing? Now, I am remembering that Diego unstuffed two dog beds and a cat bed before he finally stopped biting and tearing apart everything in sight. Okay, Morrie.  That’s one!

Tequila Redux

Tequila Redux

Since the prompt won’t be published until I’ve already had to start out for Ajijic for day 2 of Camp Estrella II, I’m sending you to one of the first blogs I ever published. It is a little poem on the dangers of tequila!  Go HERE to read it. I can’t see that anyone now reading my blog read it since it was back in 2013 at the very beginning! It was written to a National Poetry Writing Month (NaPoWriMo) challenge, when it seemed as though it would be impossible to write a poem a day for an entire month. Now, over 900 blogs later, it doesn’t seem so impossible.

Happy Shyboy with Flower! (Cee’s Flower of the Day)

IMG_2083I believe that is a Hibiscus about to unfurl over this little boy’s left ear.  He is a sweetie and unfurled a bit himself during the past week. Who could resist that smile?  I couldn’t.

Flunking Woulda Shoulda Coulda

I shoulda woulda coulda answered this prompt today,
but it seems the time to do it sorta got away.
I had to finish up the prompt I started yesterday,
and then it seemed like life just sort of got right in the way.

I know I’ve made a habit of writing every day,
but lately I have had less time for what I want to say.
Yet superstition tells me that somehow I’ll have to pay
if I don’t write something, so it’s possible I may.

The problem is this little rhyme really has no theme.
I really shoulda woulda had a prior scheme.
Some topic I felt strong about–a cause or plan or meme.
Other folks have causes by the dozen or the ream.

Perhaps a favorite candidate, or charity or team.
But I follow no beacon, am directed by no beam.
My pointless post is definitely not the cream de la cream.
My woulda shoulda coulda was just a silly dream!!!

Answer to What is It?

Version 4

You are all correct.  It was a frog! (Aha–It has just been pointed out to me that this is a toad, not a frog.  I should have realized this, so I stand corrected.  Thanks to the wise soul who knew the difference!)

This little guy, about 3 inches long, was sitting on the work counter of my garage when I got back from rehearsal.  He was still there when I left for the Camp Estrella show a few hours later, but had departed by time I got home four hours later.  He’ll be croaking out his very loud song by my pool later tonight. The performance was an incredible experience.  I’ll post pictures and tell all later tonight. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, 8 of us put on a week-long camp for 30 kids from my village.  They did art, English lessons, singing and flamenco dancing.  Today was their big performance and it was wonderful  More about it later!
