Today we made earrings and bracelets. Each item unique. It is amazing how handy and creative they are. This is my last day of camp. They have one day more.

Art Camp, Last Day Aug 9, 2022

Jewelry day. Bracelets and earrings. I was so busy curling the ends of the wire
to hold the beads on the earrings that I didn’t have a chance to photograph many
of them. I did better with the bracelets. Thanks, Becky, for all your help!!!!

Other Photos from Art Camp

Assisted by my friend Becky McGuigan (Thanks, Beck) I did two projects with the kids: egg carton flowers and jewelry. Last week we did necklaces and bracelets. This week we’ll do bracelets and earrings. A photo in my FOTD post for Aug 12 showed one of the flowers. Here are a few photos of the jewelry and also a photography project that my friend Bethany did with the kids. They each went home with a book of their photos. One more day of camp tomorrow! I’ll try to get more pix this time.

Valuables: Saturday Stream of Consciousness Prompt

You need to click on these to see them well.. especially the first long skinny one.

Somewhere I saw a daily prompt whose prompt today was photos of things that began with  “VAL.” I put my thinking cap on and came up with “Valuables,” so I took photos of my jewelry which, although not diamonds and gold, is valuable to me. Then, in typical “me” fashion, I could not find the prompt to link it to, so if this sounds familiar to you, please clue me in with a link?  Prayers answered.. muchas gracias, Sadje, for telling me the site of the prompt.!

This post is part of SoCS. Find the prompt HERE. link!!!!

San Juan Cosala Kids Art Camp

https://issuu.com/lakechapalasociety/docs/conecciones_agosto_2019_digitalI forgot to post photos of some of the kids enjoying the many activities at art camp two weeks ago. I taught earring and bracelet-making and egg-carton flower making. Useful skills in life. Here they are. Better late than never.

I think I’m on a jag. . . Can’t stop.  3:44 a.m. and I just finished another bracelet.  Someone stop me before I create again!!!

Keeping Me Off the Streets

These bracelets are what I’ve been working on for the past couple of days. I designed 75 of them last year, then put them away without assembling them. It’s taken me two days to assemble four of them. The red one with the butterfly, I hired a macrame artist to join for me but the time it takes and expense I think would price it out of the potential market. The other four were joined and clasps created by me. All of the designs are my own—assemblages of found pieces. I’d be interested in your opinions. Would you wear these? Buy them? They would probably be priced in the $45 to $65 (US) range. The high end would be for the macrame closures. (Only the red one with the butterfly is shown in this style. The green stones in the first bracelet are fresh water pearls.) All are one-of-a-kind pieces.
