I don’t think I’ve ever photographed this newest hibiscus in my family. It’s planted in a spot I don’t often visit, by the gate between the outside kitchen entrance and the back yard. When Pasiano left the gate open, letting the dogs into the kitty domain, I went to close it and discovered this somewhat splendiferous overblown beauty. It’s not what I would normally buy. Now I’m curious about my state of mind when I succumbed to its gaudy flashiness.
Oh and a stunningly beautiful girl she is too. 😀

She is indeed very flashy, but rather exciting, too. Like a dancer in a gaudy dress, spinning across the stage.

I am going to name you the Hibiscus Kid. I have loved all the hibiscus photos you have posted lately, and I almost bought one myself in the garden shop. However, I doubt they can grow well in a cold place like San Francisco!!!

Just move them inside in the winter. I grew them in Wyoming!!!

I plant things in the Spring, still on the winter high when I get carried away and tend to overbuy. It grows and I wonder what made me do my doing. Then I eventually pause and see the splendor of my purchase. I so love Hibiscus but can’t keep the Japanese beetles from setting up shop in them.
