They do look a lot alike, although the leaves are different. Many times I have to identify by the leaves as so many flowers look alike. I confused thunbergia and copa de oro as well.
Since following FOTD i have realised there are thousands of flowers but only a few basic patterns. identifying which flower is what is no easy task 🙂
I’ve also learned a lot from my own and other peoples FOTD googling unknown flowers or finding the real names of ones i’ve been misnaming for years ( decades even) 😉
Same colour and shape as my Bower of Beauty vine flowers ( that fall just like that!) but which i don’t think are related.

I’ve always loved flowers, but since participating in FOTD for so many years, I find I look closer and enjoy them even more.
