The Prompt: The Mirror Crack’d—You wake up one morning to a world without mirrors. How does your life — from your everyday routines to your perception of yourself — change?
Mirror Fearer
Every time I walk past it, I look into the glass
and notice how my hair looks and then survey my ass.
I cannot help but look at it, every time I pass—
criticizing how I look, both fuzziness and mass.
And in my deepest feelings, despite my brains and sass,
I can’t avoid this feeling that men must find me crass.
And so I guess I really feel that it would be a gas
if you took away the mirrors from this self-critiquing lass!
Yup your mothers humor. Cute…

I like it! Imagine what the world would be like with no mirrors. Might end a lot of self esteem problems.
I think you would enjoy reading this one: http://theseekersdungeon.com/2014/05/04/can-you-say-too-much-information/ It wasn’t written for the prompt but it definitely could have been.

That actually is my son’s blog. I just thought it was a post that you would like since yours reminded me of it! I’m glad you liked my post as well…… enough to recommend it to others!

Here’s what I do. I prop a long mirror up against a wall so it’s slanted a bit. No matter what your size, you’re thin…and I got rid of the magnifying mirrors. I love your prompt poems. They’re really all so clever.

I had a friend.. actually, Lee, the one I just wrote the poem about, who never looked at her back view in the mirror. Unfortunate in terms of her hair… ha.

That’s funny. Mom was convinced her left side was the best, so she always tried to position herself to everyone’s right. She usually showed more of her left side in photos too.

Your mom was a larger-than-life character like my dad.
