Fuchsia
I had run down the street for two blocks in a long beach coverup quickly thrown over my nightgown when I heard the crazy rodeo parade approaching my house at 11 o’clock at night. The night before it had gone on from about 7:30 to at least 2 a.m. when I went to bed. I’d somehow missed it going by when I was dancing at Palapa Joe’s so I didn’t want to miss it tonight. I was walking back home when I spied these little flowers and I kept bending lower to get them in more detail. When I looked up I saw this BIG guy who must have been the cook in the palapa restaurant I was standing in front of, taking the picture. He was sitting in a straight chair in the parking lot—probably out to catch a spare breeze as the night was still hot. “You can see beauty in a single flower?” he asked me. When I nodded my head and said, “Mmhmm,” he just smiled and nodded his head. Such a nice little interchange and nice final human contact for the day.
More about my day will follow.
