Growing in a Garden? How wonderful.

I remember when I moved to Isreal discovering how many of my houseplants in New York were growing wild all over the place … and they were HUGE. My most fun discovery was that rosemary is a weed and I didn’t have to buy it … I could just go almost anywhere and pick it any time of the year. It even grew between the cracks in the sidewalk. I don’t know about today, but I was dazed and thrilled to have so many flowers … at least until late summer when everything except gardens went brown and desert dry.
I remember the flowers 🙂

Not a bad thing to keep in your consciousness. The whole hillside under my house in CA was covered by rosemary. It is very good for controlling hillside erosion.

I had no idea that poinsettias just grew in the environment like that. I googled it and found this out: It derives its common English name from Joel Roberts Poinsett,[3] the first United States Minister to Mexico,[4

I didn’t know how they had received their name. How interesting, Carol. I have one given to me the first Xmas I was here that I planted by the wall in my backyard. I later built a studio in front of it and just yesterday saw the poinsettia peeking it’s head over the roof of the studio! They grow to tree size here and I am living proof of it. I’ll take a photo tomorrow if I remember. Merry Xmas. I love how everyday blogging ads to my education. Today you’ve been the teacher.
