I love this photo! The darkness creeping in at the top left, the power lines. I almost missed the hummer, which makes it even cooler! Had to take a second look. Just marvelous! World class, really!

I was going to title it Hibiscus with two hummers, but don’t know if phone lines or power lines hum anymore like they used to.

What a beautiful picture. It captures the intermingling of nature and modernity so well. It reminds us that life continues unabated. For me that knowledge gives me hope. Just lovely.

It reminds me that it takes away and gives. A friend I was supposed to pick up got her plans mixed up and wasn’t at her house. As I waited at the gates of her compound, hoping she’d just run an errand, this little lady/fellow showed up to dine at the bush right outside my car window. Turns out she’d gone on to the restaurant. We joined up 45 minutes after I’d thought I was supposed to pick her up..but snapped a few good photos. (That would have been better with my old deceased camera. a new one arrives in two weeks.) Living in Mexico, it’s necessary for friends and visitors to “mule” things back and forth for each other.
