Jocotepec: Thurs. Doors, June 13, 2019

I stood in one location to take all three of these photos of doors–only moving a few feet to capture each shot. Vive la difference!

Sale Day at the Knock-off Designer Purse Store

Sale Day at the Knock-off Designer Purse Store

Shoppers are in a quandary. They’ll put up with no delay.
We advertised new bargains available today.
They’re seeking phony purses from Dior and Michael Kors.
Noses against the windows, they’re beating at the doors.
But they’ve delayed our shipments and we don’t know what to do.
The faces of the ladies first in line are turning blue.
The advertising blitz we did turned out to be foolhardy.
Our Chanels are stuck in customs, our Hermès bags are tardy.
We have the fire hoses ready. We’ll use them if we must.
The ladies’ love of Fendi has turned into a lust.
If purses were religion they would be the most confessory.
There is no other obsession like the one for an accessory!

This real Hermès just sold for two million dollars at auction!!! Has the world gone crazy? It is the second most expensive handbag in the world.

Want to see the most expensive handbag in the world?  Go HERE.

Prompt words today are delay, bargain, quandary and phony.

Mother Hen

Mother Hen

His insidious preening as he eyes each teenage guest
makes me want to gather them in a protective nest,
to spread my wings to cover them and tell them to take care.
To go home and do homework and fiddle with their hair.
I want them safe away from this producer’s leering glance.
Away from all they’ll forfeit to try to get their chance.
For all the favors he hands out, with his other hand he reaps,
consuming all the sweet young things as though they were just Peeps!

The prompts today are preen, homework, insidious and safe.

Rainy Season Vignettes

The rainy season came on with a vengeance late this afternoon,

driving the dogs to my door, begging for admittance in spite of the fact that they had their own snug doggie domain just feet away,

driving the cats away from their dinner on the patio outside the kitchen door

to their snug haven in the garage,

and furnishing uninvited guests with a banquet of soggy kitty kibbles. Guess which ones love the rain?

(You must click on the above photo to really see it well.)

And, it fed the flowers, too!!!

Fandango’s Provocative Question #27

DSC08394

“If you could choose one — and only one — particular malady, condition, or disease for which a safe and effective treatment was available, what one condition would you choose to treat and why is that your choice?”

If there could be a cure for one disease in the world, I would choose Alzheimer’s. Other diseases deprive you of your life. Alzheimer’s deprives you of yourself. I can’t imagine a worse fate than being trapped inside myself, losing my personality, intelligence, memory, mobility and dignity–and having my loved ones witness this. I’ve watched this happen with my sister and will seize any means to keep it from happening to me. I’ve speculated that perhaps you just go into an interior world that is magical in its own way, but I think that is really just wishful thinking. In truth, I fear it the most of anything, as by the time you are in its throes, there is really nothing that can be done. With other diseases, you have a choice… attempt a cure, and if it doesn’t work, choose a bridge to jump off or a pill to take. With Alzheimer’s, unless you make this choice early-on, it is too late.

For Fandango’s Provocative Question #27

One-sided

One-sided

I’m tempted by your zaniness and your eclectic charm,
but I’m not reflected in your eyes, although I have your arm.
And though you yield umbrella to shield me from the drizzle,
when I look into your eyes, I don’t detect a sizzle.
So though I hang on all your words—mind everything you quote—
and though I laugh and coo and preen and blink my eyes and dote,
I know it is just habit, your attentive chivalry.
I know that I am into you, but you aren’t into me!

Prompts today were drizzle, reflect, eclectic and tempt.

For Cee’s FOTD

One by One (Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge)

A fortunate synchronicity that Cee’s prompt this week was photos of individual things, since last week at Open Circle, I for some reason was driven to bring out my camera and in looking at the photos, I realized that all the photos I took were of individual living things. One little bird that remained alone on that wire for at least 20 minutes. One little sprig of hair sproutin from the head of a man five rows in front of me. Was it in the no-man’s land between the extent of his reach on each side or a unique styling decision? One little flower on a tree far away with one little bee mining it, and one squirrel that descended the tree next to the speaker, distracting all of her listeners.  Then, by the time I could get my camera out, it had run up the tree and out on this limb to disappear into the foliage.
