I ran a sharp knife around the side of the mug, so I actually didn’t have too much trouble getting my microwave muffin out of its mug, although the bottom 1/4 inch stuck and had to be removed with a spoon. The next time, I’ll oil the bottom of the cup a bit. The muffin isn’t bad and actually isn’t that sweet. I think a lot of the powdered sugar fizzed off onto the bottom of the oven during those initial 12 minutes of time spent in the oven. Once I put them in the microwave, they rose fine, although the mugfin is a bit heavy.
If you don’t know what in the heck I’m talking about, go HERE for an explanation.
I then decided to take a slice of the mugfin and add some of the bran concoction I made last night. It was very sweet and I think I prefer the muffin just by itself. I think the bran/banana/sugar concoction would be good on a blander white poundcake or shortbread cookie–or perhaps toast.
Okay.. I promise. No more banana bread/mugfin posts.
Judy,
Even your dishes are colorful to the hilt. I would be joyful all of the time seeing so much vibrant colors.

I love the Mexican pottery. Most of these are almost 20 years old. Just in the past year, they have started chipping and I’m trying to figure out why when all these years I’ve had no problems. Distressing as I don’t see these old designs anymore. Maybe I need to go to Dolores Hidalgo where they are made.

Ha.. just got a C on this one. I should have measured the flour as the bread is too dense, but watch out. The entire huge head of dozens of bananas just all matured at once. I’m picking and mashing and chopping to freeze. A man is knocking down the wall outside my room to fix a broken drain.. Jesus and Eduardo are here fixing silitre damage, kitties both having a bath in the bed beside me, Pasiano filling the pool. Man is it a busy house!! I was up at 4:30 and by 9:30 when Jesus and Eduardo arrived, I felt I was coming down with a migraine. Went back to bed and woke up to the pounding (of the man breaking into my wall, not of the headache) at 11:30. Headache gone and thankfully E and J were here to show the abonille where to start looking. Sometimes the life of my house buzzes on without me.

The dish, cup and setting are the best thing about this whole sordid affair Judy. I shall hold you to that promise 😀

I had some good luck this evening with “Lemon Brownies” — two minor problems easily solved — I don’t have the right sized pan, so used a similar size but different shape — and I don’t have powdered sugar, so used regular sugar for a “glaze” I might have done better just with lemon juice or no glaze at all, but the end result is delicious!

Man, could I have loaned you powdered sugar!!

I’d almost be afraid to use it for fear it would blow up my lemon brownies!

I’m sure you would have used it with more restraint than I did.
