So many varieties of butterflies here. The swallowtails just appeared yesterday.. except for the black swallowtails which were around earlier. Yellow and beige ones seem to mix their seasons with the rest.
i wish I could get the birds to feed at my feeder. I’ve tried 4 different locations. Someone suggested I put only sunflower seeds in it. I’ll do that if I ever go shopping again!!
Actually, it’s funny. I started getting Sam’s Club 40 pound bags delivered. It’s cheaper than the premium brands $20 for 40 pounds, but it’s mostly sunflower seeds, peanuts, and raisins with just a little filler whereas the premium brands tended to be mostly filler. Now, robins, woodpeckers, mockingbirds and catbirds are joining the crowd at the feeder which they never did before.
I once had orioles at my hummingbird feeder. That was a surprise, but when I put out seed feeders, they have stayed away. I’ll try your mix, although I don’t go to Sam’s. I’ll try pure sunflower seeds and see if that works. Thanks for answering, Sascha.
You’ve just reminded me that I need to clean up my hummingbird feeder and put it out! It’s been so unseasonably chilly here that I haven’t thought about it.
This is so beautiful and inspiring. How stunning!

They are breath taking beautiful, not comparable to the ones we have out here.

๐ I’ve moved my laptop to the dinette so I can see the bird feeder. (Easily distracted.)

I changed bird seed and have had a lot of unexpected birds visiting, which is a treat.
