The Plot Thickens

See this dog??

And see this dog?

Can you tell which one is Zoe? The first photo I found on a site about Chiweenies–evidently the new “it” dog with breeders. This Chihuahua/Dachshund hybrid supposedly produces all kinds of mixtures of the two breeds, but the cutest I saw was Zoe’s. So, folks, I think it is pretty definite that I am the proud mama of a Chiweenie!

Hate to admit I’m still having problems remembering Zoe’s name, let alone her breed. Better choice than a Dachshuahua, though, don’t you think?

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

She’s really a cute size now. Twice to three times what she was when I got her, but still little. I think I manifested her. I was thinking how much I’d like a dog that stayed as small as the cats so she could sleep with me.. and voila!!

Does he look like Zoe? There is such a wide range in terms of what qualities they inherit from each side. I read about one that had two long legs and two short legs…A sad combination.

I just read my copy and some entity in WP or otherwise changed the below copy: “Hate to admit I’m still having problems remembering Zoe’s name, let alone her breed. Better choice than a Dachshuahua, though, don’t you think?” Dachshuahua was changed to Dachshund! Which made it sort of insulting instead of a lame joke. Still puzzling over how that happened. Perhaps my alter ego reread and just fixated on Dachshund and changed the spelling, but no memory of that..Losing it.

The vet thought no more than 10 lbs. Google says usually not more than 12 lbs. She actually has lost a couple of pounds as she grew but I’m feeding her enough so she usually leaves some so I think perhaps it is just losing puppy roundness or growing faster than her appetite. She doesn’t look malnourished .

No argument from me on that one. I actually embarrass myself when I talk to her. If I heard anyone else carry on like that i would roll my eyes! Actually, my cousin Kirk was worse and I didn’t roll my eyes. I just thought it was sweet.
