If I Were Marooned on An Island with Only Three Foods?
If I were marooned on an island with only three foods, what three foods would I choose?
Potatoes, Whole Milk, Oil.
What I could make from these three ingredients? Baked potatoes with butter and sour cream, French fries (alas, no ketchup), mashed potatoes with milk and butter, potato chips, scalloped potatoes, fried potatoes, VODKA!!!!!
What I’d miss most: Salt (but I figure I could obtain it from seawater), green vegetables, (Surely there are some edible greens on the island? More likely than wild potatoes.) As for meat, there must be some game on the island and fish in the ocean or lake around it.
The Prompt for My Vivid Blog is Potatoes. Can’t resist that one!
“Angles” for Travel With Intent
Rash Acts, For Wordle 630
Rash Acts
Ashes from the burning house go swirling ’round the fire,
casting their debris and licking ever higher.
Corridors of smoke sent upwards in the air
starting in the living room and swirling up the stair.
The cat jumps from the window, dogs barrel out the door.
The man runs out with boxes in his arms. Goes in for more.
His wife pleads with him not to go, fashions a refrain
that she repeats in hopes she’ll be able to restrain
his further trips into the house, facing smoke and flame
knowing not the secret gift that he’s gone to reclaim.
His final trip completed, he’s safe from further harms,
as he rushes out to place their wedding photos in her arms.
This one is sorta corny, but the prompt words made me do it!!
For the Sunday Whirl Wordle 630 the prompt words are: fire arm fashion cat corridor debris gift secrets box flame ashes refrain. Image by Jen Theodore on Unsplash.
Past and Future: FOTD Nov 25, 2023
These flowers, much magnified, are tiny blooms on a succulent that is not the bright green leaf pictured in the foreground. Because Sam is always interested in knowing the true size of the flower and what plant it is from, I’ve taken two more photos with my hand as a reference re/ size and touching the leaf that belongs to the plant the flowers are part of.

Note from ForgottenMan: Judy is almost home (bouncing in a taxi from Guadalajara to San Juan Cosala) as I prepare to post this. I sent these prompts to her this afternoon on Skype, and she nailed all 10 responses back on Skype in less than 10 minutes. I’ve transcribed them here & posted at her direction. Welcome home, Judy!
