More Yarrow, this time from the garden of a local Mexican restaurant.
for Cee’s FOTD prompt. Also, for CMMC: Magenta.
I just saw this story about sea otters in the Santa Cruz/Monterey area and had to reblog it. Before I moved to Mexico, my husband and I used to kayak in Elkhorn Slough, a small river that ran down to the ocean in the Monterey/Santa Cruz area. I had an amazing experience with sea otters in this area when I became separated from Bob. I was floating down the slough and noticed one sea otter, then two, until I was surrounded by a ring of sea otters that kept floating closer until they formed a circle around me. At least one was on her back with a baby on her stomach and suddenly they all started singing! It was the most surreal experience. They floated closer and closer and finally I broke the circle and paddled down the slough toward the ocean where Bob and friends were waiting for me. When I read this story, it all flooded back to memory.
Chris found this story about a California Otter stealing surface boards.

If you were to take a swim in the clear blue waters surrounding Santa Cruz, California, in recent days, you may have encountered an unlikely predator. Small and dark, whiskered and fluffy, she has developed a knack for theft and a taste for surfboards. Her name is 841. She is a sea otter.

My plant identifier says this is a Tatarian Maple Tree, but it certainly looks like a beautiful flower to me.

For Fibbing Friday this week, we were asked to use our noggins
to try to dream up daffynitions for the following words:
1. Brabble The contents of a messy underwear drawer.
2. Bedward Where we are headed after a particularly wearisome day.
3. Crapulous How one joyfully describes a long-awaited intestinal release!!!!
4. Elflock A hold practiced by diminutive wrestlers.
5. Expergefactor What Daffy Duck once called a formerly bulimic movie star
6. Groke A pronouncement of a sore-throated frog
7. Grubble The leftovers of a particularly messy dinner party
8. Lanspresado How we described Lans previous to his last down period.
9. Mumpsimus Why Mumpsi decides to leave her dull home in search of adventure?
Well, simply—because Mupsimus!
10. Rawgabbit What one eats when one has no means to cook one’s gabbit.

Images of the skies between Dallas and Billings. I couldn’t resist sending this many to show the changes. Fascinating. This is about half of the photos I took! Love having a window seat and the lovely young woman I sat next to insisted on trading seats during the approach to Billings so I could see the view.
Awaiting yer pic! ( This was the note on the blog Forgottenman had waiting for me to add a photo to today. What a kind act from a dear person. He was correct in supposing I would forget to post in the rush of things so he made it easier for me. I have been running all day. First the drive back to Sheridan from Billings after a night in a hotel there, then an eye appointment, then shopping first for groceries and then for all the makeup I did not bring from Mexico because I only brought a carryon and planned to buy all my makeup and other maintenance “stuff” here in the states. A chat with my friend Patty whom I’m staying with and her guy Duffy and I’m now back in bed. Dr. appt. tomorrow. Rodeo going on across the street. Lots of drum rolls and crowd cheers and odors a la horses!!! But this blog is supposed to be about flowers, so here they are!!!!)
