I’m passing this hand in the Dahlia challenge, so Cee wins. See her today’s play here.

Okay, this was just taken yesterday, so I know it isn’t a repeat as yesterday’s was. Sorry for that. Easy to lose track.
This one by Cee is really cool. Please have a look:

I love that one ultra-shy petal that hasn’t opened at all and the other three, like observers in a vaudeville hall waiting for Gypsy Rose Lee to remove her veil!

I went down to the studio to work, but instead got intrigued by the new flowers that have popped up during a time when I’ve been too busy to go down to enjoy them. Most of the dahlias and zinnias are past their prime, but this one was still gorgeous. I’ll do a macro of it tomorrow.

The water hyacinths are so thick on the surface of the lake right now that this night heron can actually perch or walk across them.
There don’t seem to be very many blooms right now, but you can make out a few in the photo below:

Frida and I took a stroll on the San Juan Cosala Malecon today and found these beauties growing by a makeshift beach lean-to restaurant. So vivid against all the paler colors. More photos of that stroll in a later blog.
