Thursday Doors on Friday

Thursday Doors on Friday

Version 3 IMG_7840 IMG_7841 IMG_7834In a place where square does not rule the day anyway, it was very hard to get a square take on these doors without having the door blocked by the very ugly black street sign.  The more ornate older sign added to the view, but the ugly black one definitely didn’t!!

Temptations

Temptations

I never did order one of these mocha drinks at La Rueda coffee shop.  I couldn’t be trusted to know how good they were.DSC09265Do they look like luscious chocolates and macaroons?  Wrong. They are sweet potato balls brought to a friend’s Thanksgiving feast…rolled in coconut or pecans and brown sugar.  Yes, they were delicious!!!

DSC09293This pancake breakfast ordered by a friend at Martha’s Cafe in Ajijic was as good as it looks. Proof below:
DSC09294DSC09295But, the shocker was that the oatmeal I ordered was just as good!  I was too hungry to get a picture of it.  Guess I’ll have to go back to prove it to you!!!

Selfie Challenge

Selfie Challenge

My prior selfies have been word-oriented, but in this challenge, the assignment was to do a photo selfie, so here are a handful!

Hearts and Flowers: cees-odd-ball-photo-challenge-2015-week-31/

                                                              Hearts and Flowers

The combined effect of the hair ribbon and the flowers behind her that looked like wings, plus her interesting body arrangement gives this shot a sort of oddball charm, at least in my opinion!

I linked another oddball to the wrong  place (called it week 30, which I don’t think existed and linked it to week 29, where I had already posted,) so  if you didn’t see it, go HERE for another oddball.

Happily

Happily

Nothing in this world can exist happily ever after.
A house is built of lows and highs: foundation before rafter.
Up and down’s the truth of it, the brilliant and the dark.
No week is composed totally of Sunday in the park.

Existence is a pendulum that sweeps across our lives.
Worker bees die every day in service to their hives.
Good seems finely balanced by a constant lurking evil.
Roses have their aphids.  Cotton has its weevil.

There is so much that’s wonderful in the world we live in,
but no one wins at every game. Sometimes we have to give in,
playing with the cards we’re given–flush or straight or fold–
sometimes in the heat of luck, sometimes out in the cold.

Ups and downs create the whole of our amazing world,
its surface formed by contrast of the knitted and the purled.
Sometimes we’re given what is sweet, at other times the bile
as we choose moment by moment to live happily for a while.

The Prompt:“And they lived happily ever after.” Think about this line for a few minutes. Are you living happily ever after? If not, what will it take for you to get there? https://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_prompt/happily-ever-after/

Cee’s Odd Ball Photo Challenge

DSC00144 DSC00146 DSC00144 - Version 2I cannot imagine this guy’s story.  He flew up to ogle our tortilla chips when we were sitting facing out over the bluffs of San Carlos Bay, Sonora, Mexico. This toothpick or porcupine quill-shaped object was poking straight up out of his skull and must have been embedded there.

Otreview

Well, the muse didn’t want to conduct an interview today.  Instead, we spent a few minutes simply viewing Diego through the screen door of my studio and then snapped a few pictures and played around with them.  Here are the results: DSC09992DSC09998 DSC09995 DSC09995 - Version 2 DSC09995 - Version 3 DSC09995 - Version 4
