No Longer in the Present

In chairs around the tables of our favorite cafe,
our attention to each other has come to be passé
We are not present here and now. We’re all in other places
as we stare at  our tiny screens, caught up in far off faces.

For dVerse Poets Quadrille Challenge, the prompt was  “present.” HERE is Lillian’s challenge.

Creation and Destruction: So Sad

The men came today to tear down my beautiful arched entry that was damaged by the last earthquake.  They’ll also have to take out the wall beside my front door–and all of Jesus’s wonderful artwork.Below is the destruction in process. So sad, so sad…..And so strange, because my computer won’t allow any photos of the destruction to download! I ended up having to email them to myself and then download.  Numerous cracks that run the depth and height of my house, inside to outside will also be repaired–and the wall between my house and my lot below.

One Word Sunday’s prompt is GREEN. Green I can do~~~

Inevitable

Inevitable

What folly that we thought our “we”
was something that would always be.

That lot we thought that we had cast
though once it was, was not to last,

for life is fated from the start,
conjoined hearts to rip apart.

Divorce or death, when it is done,
reduces two joined hearts to one.

Jetpack Blues

Does anyone know how I can stop Jetpack from sounding a notification on my phone every time someone views my blog? I don’t want to turn off the sound and haptics because I want to hear phone calls and other messages.  Help!  Driving me crazy. This has only happened since we were forced to switch to Jet pack.
