Licking out Mom’s Ice Cream Bowl!!!

Went to a wonderful play, “The Women,” at the Bare Stage Theater, then to dinner at the Jardin in the Ajijic Plaza. Got home just in time to not quite not avoid the deluge… Was positively soaked running from garage to my kitchen door.. I mean as soaked as if I’d fallen into a swimming pool.  Kids all ready to be fed.  Kitties inside as doggies have their own snug room–the doggie domain–built just for them.  After their dinner, they got to lick out my ice cream bowl.  There are some rewards for cats even in a rain storm..

With unsheathed nails and open maw,
Tooth by tooth and claw by claw,
that truce unbroken for so long
suddenly shifts from right to wrong.
Familial peace disturbed for now,
they execute their noisy row.

Stocked up on sustenance for my cats
and stowed it in a cupboard that’s
just outside my kitchen door.
(That’s what I built that cupboard for.)

The only problem seems to be
that closet lacks security,
but that is no problem, is it?

The kitties were all girlcatting it around outside when I lay down on the sofa, but when I woke up after a 3-hour unplanned nap, they were covering about all of me. I had been listening to a book on my Kindle when I fell asleep, but I suddenly realized it had a camera on it, so then and there, I learned how to use my Kindle to take these photos and how to send them to my computer, all while lying under a cozy cat blanket! I love it that I’m just the bottom cat in the pile.
