This is another first blooming of my newest hibiscus–just a baby as you can see by its proximity to the ground. It is just as fertile as the others, as you can see by today’s bloom. I just can’t stop buying hibiscus. My only vice. (?)

Hibiscus: FOTD, June 1, 2020

This is one of the oldest hibiscus bushes in my garden–probably about 18 or 19 years old. I don’t think it’s ever been without 3 or 4 blooms in that entire time. Thanks for your daily gift, old friend!

Mother and Child? FOTD May 31, 2020

I’ve been getting a bloom a day on this new hibiscus. Today it looks like mother and child.  Click on photos to enlarge views.

Hibiscus Twins: FOTD May 30, 2020

One of my new hibiscus plants seems to like its new location. Although the plant is small and only a week old, it has already produce four blooms. These twins popped out the day before yesterday and look at all the buds that are getting ready to produce more blooms! They are the size of my hand with the fingers completely spread out.

This is the other new hibiscus I bought a few days ago, but must admit I bought one yesterday as well. My vivero has started raising some new varieties and putting them out on the street when their flowers are at their height and who can resist? Not me.

Hibiscus: FOTD May 24, 2020

This is the new dinner-plate sized hibiscus I just bought two days ago. Click on photos to enlarge:

I actually think it looks a bit like a hollyhock! It has bloomed twice in the past three days and as you can see, there are more buds  set to bloom. Pasiano planted this one so it is directly in front of the hammock, facing directly towards it.

Hibiscus: FOTD 5/13/2020

This beauty just burst out yesterday. Third time it has bloomed but the second time it disappeared before I could get a photo. Either there is a flower thief in the yard or I was hallucinating. I saw it on my way to the hammock to have a nap. After my nap, 2 hours later, went up to the house to get my camera and as I passed its location, it had vanished. Not fallen. No petals below. Just gone. Has Diego developed a taste for hibiscus? A really hungry snail? Some bird? I’ll never know..
