Ruth and Max Bloomquist in Concert at Wendy and Steve Edmond’s House

The concert was staged in a beautiful setting
on a hill above Chapala.
As the audience collected, they enjoyed both the scenery, the company
and the sangria,
but Ruth’s beautiful mellow voice rivaled the scenery and the sangria!
Friends you can make beautiful music with…
Becky sang a few songs,
There were a few faces from the past
as well as a lot of new faces in the crowd.
An intermission gave them a chance to all get acquainted, after which Ruth and Max held us all in thrall again.
and the party went on for a few more hours more
Mark sang a few more as well.
Ruth and Becky, who have sung together at times for 40 years did a few duets
Lach and Becky sang their rendition of my favorite ever Aussie song, “Wonthaggi,”
All-in-all, a magical afternoon and evening.

A beautiful setting, great music. After most of the people went home, Steve lit a fire and a number of music makers who had been in the audience took turns presenting music.  Lach picked me up at 1 because me car was in the repair shop.. I finally got home again about 9:30… Long, fun day. I made the sangria.. and read a few poems.

Last Social Outing Before Isolation!!!

These was a gathering at the house my across-the-street neighbors who have their house up for sale. Soon after, the coronavirus scare hit and I’ve only seen them at shouting distance since, except for yesterday when they delivered groceries. Sweet guys. Everyone was so photogenic that I had to share.

Celebration for Two

The radiator’s sputtering and crumbs of birthday cake
fly out from the thrown back sheet and spread out in your wake.
Red wine from toppled glasses forms a little lake
so perhaps staging the party in our bed was a mistake!

Easter at Audrey’s

Audrey’s Easter bash included confetti Easter eggs (to be broken over the head of whomever was closest when you found it) hidden in her lush garden in addition to a personal egg for each attendee with his/her name written on it and five special eggs that earned prizes, music, a ham and scalloped potato buffet, birthday cake and plenty of wine in addition to  surprise Mariachis who serenaded us for 15 minutes before we started questioning each other regarding who had arranged for them and determined that no one had and that they were at the wrong party.  (In fact, when I call the number they gave for the “right” party it turns out it had been cancelled and that they just hadn’t received the message.)  No problem. We passed the hat and they were happy, as were we.  The birthday girl was as ecstatic over their rendition of the Mexican birthday song, “Las Mananitas” as she was over the birthday cake.
