Thanks to my friend Linda Levy for identifying this flowering succulent as a euphorbia flanaganii. Also want to thank her in advance for reminding me of its name when I forget it in the future!!!

Does anyone know what this unusual flower is? Photogarphed in Ajijic, Jalisco Mexico.
Here’s a photo stolen from the internet of this same flower at a later stage: for Janet:

I’ve never seen a flower like this before. So beautiful in its unfolding. Is it a chrysanthemum? A large white marigold? I’m waiting to be taught. It was very large, like a mum. Yay!! Within minutes, John Hric identified it as a dahlia. Thanks, John.

Thanks to Rebecca and Rita for telling me this is a yarrow flower! It is from my friend Patty’s garden in Wyoming. It is a very large head, similar to a cauliflower. You can judge by the size of the bee.

This plant grows like a weed along all the borders of my garden. It has been identified for me at least once, but I can’t remember what it is. If you know, you’ll score points for filling me in on it. The flower is about 2 or 2 1/2 inches wide. Several people below guessed it was a petunia and I was sure they were wrong, but turns out I’m wrong. Its popular name is “Mexican Petunia,” even though they are not closely related.

I found this small ring of flowers in a field near the malecon when I took Zoe for her first walk to see the sunset. Thanks to Cee and Sam for identifying this flower as Prairie Verbena for me!!!

Can you identify it? Photographed on the California coast north of Santa Cruz?

I snapped this photo years ago before I started blogging. I was back in Santa Cruz/Boulder Creek California for a visit and took a walk with my friend Linda Levy on the high cliffs above the ocean. Wildflowers were aplenty and I took a number of photos that I stumbled across yesterday. I have no idea what this flower is, but I can tell from a different photo where she had her hand near it that they are rather small. That was a lovely day. Glad I have these flowers to remember it by.
Janet of the Simret Blog recognized this flower as a wild radish and both Martha Kennedy and Cee agreed, as do I, so it is official. Thanks, Janet and all.
