I love this photo of the bougainvillea spilling over my wall into my lower lot with Jose in the background, erecting a ladrillo border around the boulders spilling down from the corner of the lot. He is such a cheerful worker and we’ve found project after project for him to do over the past year.
For Cee’s FOTD

It s a good picture

The lower lot has been such a good experience, Cee, in spite of the one Scrooge on the building committee. The vibes down there are so positive and everyone seems happy working down there. I love looking down and determining what will happen next. Can’t seem to stop. And it is such a combined effort.

So beautiful~!, Makes me want to get out and work on my place~! Guess that Jose does not have anyone who wants to come this way. Our town who had so many hard working people from Mexico, but have turned all of the places where they used to live into wine and beer places and what few people who have not been run out are scared to work in the open. Most are quietly doing house building labor.

I am so lucky to live in a place where I can afford help or I would have had to have given up on such big yards and garden areas. In CA I had two acres and did all the work myself, although much of it was taken up with redwoods. Had a huge terrace, though, almost as big as the house and had it covered with plants in big flowerboxes, pots and hanging baskets.. all on a water system I installed myself–plus a big ornamental garden below and down my driveway. I can’t believe what energy I had, plus doing shows all over the country, studio time and having my husband’s kids during vacations. Ah the multitasking of youth. You sound like you are still pretty ambitious and active.
