More Tropical: Flower of the Day, Feb 11, 2017

Decided I’d get a bit more mileage out of my tropical coconut arrangement.  Here is the flip side of the bouquet:

Mixed Tropical Bouquet: Flower of the Day, Feb 10, 2018

IMG_7503Heliconia, ginger, baby’s breath and Lily in a coconut.

Luckily, the weekly flower vendor sets up shop in the street directly across from the street entrance to my beach rental.  Friday, I took the coconut I’d bought from a beach vendor, minus its coconut water, to the flower vendor and chose flowers and greenery and arranged it on the spot.  Today my neighbor contributed the lily to polish it off.  After spending two days out on the porch to soak up the sea air, it is coming inside so I can soak up the sight of it.

Not a Clematis or a Butterfly Bush: Flower of the Day, Feb 6, 2018

You did it, Cee!  It is a petrea volubilit, commonly known as a queen’s wreath or sandpiper vine! I am so happy to finally know the name of this bush. Now I need to find a way to remember its name. I owe you one.

I still can’t figure out what flower this is that grows beside the stairs up to Martin’s Restaurant in La Manzanilla, Mexico.  They are long sprays about a foot long.  The single flowers turn pale brown and papery and can be used dried. I’d love to know what they are.

Flower of the Day, Jan 27, 2018

Does anyone know the name of this beautiful flower?

By forgottenman’s suggestion, here is a photo of the entire spray of flowers. They are about a foot long. En mass and from a distance, they look like wisteria, but the flower is completely different.
