Oddball Xmas
You saw part of this unusual choice of costume in my Xmas post, but I saved the photo of the entire ensemble for Cee’s Oddball Challenge. If this doesn’t qualify, I don’t know what will! My brother-in-law bought the suit for a joke. We added the glasses, cap and antlers. I think you’ll agree that he qualifies as a good sport!!! I’m wondering what he will come up with for New Years!!!

Young at Heart
If I walk always looking back,
I only see what I now lack;
but if I look in front of me,
I’m aware of all that I might be.
Staying young? A matter of eye, not heart.
Remembering at the day’s fresh start
to train my eye on what’s to be
and never ever in back of me.
That excitement of the unexpected––
that future formerly undetected––
is what keeps life fresh and new.
Who will deliver your next clue?
Your script in life has not been written.
Life is an apple still unbitten.
Each bite or line is yours to make.
Each day a freshly uncut cake.
Dawn is a gift that’s given us
to start anew with lesser fuss
and more acceptance of what’s there
awaiting us in the open air.
The world unfolds to all who seek,
banishing old and stale and meek.
To spend each day in a world that’s new
is how to keep your youth with you.
The Prompt: What are your thoughts on aging? How will you stay young at heart as you get older?https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/young-at-heart/
Here and Now
We saw balloons going up almost every day we were here. On Xmas Eve, the sun and clouds cooperated to give fantastic views. Today it was perhaps too windy or we didn’t look up at the right time, so we didn’t see any balloons. In any case, each time I was glad I was below snapping the picture and not above, being snapped!!
Almost Flowers
Saw these gorgeous flower-covered bushes from a half block away, but when I arrived, this is what I found:
Oh well, close enough! I’ve never seen a pencil plant succulent change color like this. Beautiful!

Faith?
How many avenues can faith take and at what cost? Go Here to read my thoughts on the matter.
See it HERE. So touching.

Genie-Us
The Prompt–Generous Genies: Remember those lovely genies who grant wishes? Well, you’re one and you’ve just been emancipated from your restrictive lamp. You can give your three wishes to whomever you want. Who do you give your three wishes to, and why?
I would give my three wishes to Raif Badawi in hopes that he would know how to use them to first free himself and then to free the people of his country from oppression and perhaps use the third to end the reign of terror of Isis. Since Mark Aldrich (in his blog) started publicizing the course of Raif’s life in prison and his sentencing to 1,000 lashes for simply stating his beliefs, this young man has been much in my thoughts. It seems to me that he might be better equipped than the world’s western leaders to figure out a solution to the threats we all feel, but certainly not as personally as he does.
