Because my startup disc is nearly full, I don’t have access to any new photos, so I’m reposting some flowers from the past until my problem is fixed. These flowers were made from egg cartons, glue and paint and included in May baskets I took to friends that year. I remember I couldn’t resist eating the caramel in this one, so had to go buy another on the way to my friend’s house to deliver it. The first is a basket made of shredded paper and white glue formed over a custard cup and peeled off when dry. The second is cut out of tissue paper–a pattern shown to me by my mother.
Of the 271 solidarity marchers in La Manzanilla, Mexico, this day after the inauguration, this was my favorite pair of ears. And since they are botanical, I think they qualify (sort of) for flower of the day.
By the way, in addition to the majority (American and Canadian women) there were lots of men marching–some with their sons–as well as Mexican grandmothers, mothers and children.

I love this shot because of the contrasts. I was going to use it for the Old and New prompt, but decided I loved it as a flower of the day. Taken yesterday, Jan 14, on the beach in La Manzanilla, where I am for three months. The flowers are hand made from corn husks.

I took this photo of this seeming wall of flowers at home a few weeks ago. What kind of wallpaper would it make? Too much? Perhaps.
