I so rarely get down to the garden when all the zinnias are fresh and unmarked that I just had to make them my flower of the day once again. They are so perfectly perky that if they were humans, they’d be annoying, but since they are just flowers, they earned my undivided admiration.

After a hot humid day in Ajijic, I arrived home to find it had rained. This beauty had bloomed in the garden by the pathway into my house, bearing evidence to that fact. I have four or five different varieties of hibiscus and each time a new bloom comes out, it is a gift!!
Since I believe Cee is on retreat, I’m linking this to her yesterday’s challenge. You can see other floral offerings HERE.

Yes, I’m stuck on the theme of Camp Estrella. Thirty children and each came up with an original response in making thank-you cards for sponsors. The messages inside were just as sweet.

Hibiscus
Called Obeliscos in Mexico, I have never seen so many varieties and colors of Hibiscus as in the nurseries in the little towns that surround where I live. I’m going to try to take pictures as the various colors bloom. I absolutely love the blooms. Although they do not last long, there is always a new one opening and if Pasiano doesn’t trip too often, dozens at a time popping open on one plant.

This is another of my friend Steve Frowine’s gorgeous orchids. I’m wondering if he was able to take them back with him when he moved back to the states.

These flowers were on the grounds of the Lake Chapala Society in Ajijic. I’m guessing they are foxgloves. Does anyone have a different guess?

I walked in to do Information Booth duty at the Lake Chapala Society, and these little naked ladies were popping up all over the grass. I was told by a local lady in the know that they are very invasive, and I believed her as there was plenty of evidence of it here. I had only seen the larger variety before and was never drawn to them because of the absence of leaves, but this shorter and smaller variety is lovely.
