Artistry, For Whatsoever is Lovely, Week 24

Human artistry adds to nature’s.

Natural Images. Do You See What I See?

What has nature seen fit to draw on my large flower pot? You tell me what you see and then I’ll tell you what I saw.

What I first saw was the same empty-eyed skeleton skull that is hanging from the overhang of the bedroom far behind the flower pot. Can you see it? You can also see a sketchy rendition of the bones of his body below. Eerie.

All of the answers of what others saw were on Facebook, so I’ll duplicate them here:

  • Tamara Alaine Mitchell

    A dog and a monkey.
  • Cheryl Kennedy

I see a monkey face and ears about 1/3 of the way down. Also could be his hand.

I see a horse with a parakeet on its head holding a small dog❤️

Stasis and Flux

Laughter is the flux of life, aiding in the flow

as we face gloomy prospects everywhere we go.
Better just to stay at home and enjoy what we’re given
It does no good to cry about the way our life’s been riven
into “then” and “now.” Whereas the world was once a race,
now we walk on tiptoe, remaining in our place,
observing what is close at hand—the blessings that surround us—
looking for the beauty in the space that lies around us.
Flowers, birds and family. Sunset skies, the trees.
Life may end where it began, here with the birds and bees.

The whole world is a miracle, and we are just a part of it.
Remember, there was no mankind way back at the start of it.
If we pass to oblivion and all our buildings crumble,
nature will go on again, our history just a mumble
that beings of the future will stumble on and wonder
why we chose to pillage and why we chose to plunder
when we could have just sat back to wonder at this world
where everything we ever needed lay securely curled.
Breathe her air, enjoy her fruits, enjoy simple things.
Open your eyes and ears and heart to all that nature brings.

Prompts for today are tiptoe, given, gloomy and flux.

Nature in Black and White

The next-to-last photo is of a squirrel tail draped over the side of the marble bird feeder I had emptied of water and put bird seed in. No matter what I did, the birds were not attracted, so I made it into a fountain which didn’t work so well due to the fact that the water evaporated so quickly I had to fill it twice a day. It is now a planter for a fern, as you can see!

The Art of Nature: Palm Art

I don’t know what creates these incredible patterns on this palm tree, but I am fascinated by them. I think this one looks like a Chinese scene of people passing. (Click on photos to enlarge.) I’d be interested to hear what figures you see in the tree.

Moonstruck

Moonstruck

I am blinded by the rising moon,
as there above the old shed,
it broadcasts
that elsewhere in a larger world
all is well
and as intended.

The prompt words today were broadcast, shed and moonstruck.
