I think my friend thought I was crazy as I pulled over to the side of the road to take photos of this tree.  We were meeting her husband for lunch and he was probably waiting for us.  But, I couldn’t neglect to honor this anciano. It is a coincidence that Becca just happens to have chosen a similar subject today. Good choice, Becca.  You can see her contribution below.

There are so many huge old trees in the Raquet Club.  I’ve been trying to catch a few before they radically trim them down.

A combination of wind and rain did this obviously dead limb in after a recent storm. Looks like it might have caused a few electrical outages as well, but luckily not at my house!

Sculpting with Bushes

These sculpted bougainvillea bushes run up the center divider at the entrance to the fraccionamiento where I live.  Quite an artistic and sculptural effect. Click on the first photo to see them better.

My husband used to say that I wasn’t satisfied until people had to fight their way through the jungle to get to our house.  That was long ago and far away, but things haven’t changed much since then.  I love this wild tangle of Washingtonian palms, napa palms and hibiscus.
