I love this shot because of the contrasts. I was going to use it for the Old and New prompt, but decided I loved it as a flower of the day. Taken yesterday, Jan 14, on the beach in La Manzanilla, where I am for three months. The flowers are hand made from corn husks.

I took this photo of this seeming wall of flowers at home a few weeks ago. What kind of wallpaper would it make? Too much? Perhaps.

This is my favorite stage of bloom for this tree. At this point, the blooms look like something out of Dr. Seuss. Sort of goofy. We need more goofy in our lives, so I’m sharing them:

In Mexico, Christmas is celebrated from December 12th to January 6th. That is why the gorgeous tree at the Nueva Posada hotel in Ajijic was still up when I went there to read poetry yesterday. So glad as I forgot my camera the last time I was there. This is the display beneath the tree. I’ll post the tree on Thursday.
