More Mystery Tree Blooms: Flower of the Day, Jan 11, 2017
This is my favorite stage of bloom for this tree. At this point, the blooms look like something out of Dr. Seuss. Sort of goofy. We need more goofy in our lives, so I’m sharing them:

Blue Christmas with Salmon Poinsettias: Flower of the Day, Jan 7, 2017
In Mexico, Christmas is celebrated from December 12th to January 6th. That is why the gorgeous tree at the Nueva Posada hotel in Ajijic was still up when I went there to read poetry yesterday. So glad as I forgot my camera the last time I was there. This is the display beneath the tree. I’ll post the tree on Thursday.

Obelisco: Flower of the Day, Jan 1, 2017!!!!!
Happy New Year, flower lovers. Mexicans call this an obelisco. I call it a hibiscus.. and beautiful. You’ve seen this same flower from two other angles. I’ll give it a rest for awhile, although I have a dozen more. New Year’s resolution.

These bougainvilleas seem determined to build a wall straight up, like Jack’s bean stalk.
