I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. Shards

Untethered shards of nightmares burst out of dark to day
to scar reality with what we hoped we’d put away.
Words of fear and loathing—guilts once left in the past
rise out of dreams to plague us. Lost shadows once more cast
against the broken light of mornings, onslaughts we must fight
to claim the new day’s pleasures that are within our right
to enjoy without being afraid of chaos in our pasts,
for after all, the future is all that really lasts.

After I posted my original post, I found two other weather photos I had meant to post with it.  They are huge hailstones that fell during a July family reunion at my nephew’s house in Des Moines, Iowa.  The storm came up fast, scattering us into various shelters.

 

Originally, the photo below was the photo I thought I’d taken at that time, but checking out the dates, I discovered that I’d taken it on a beach in December.  It looks like conjoined hailstones forming the shape of a heart,  but I think that is unlikely. Any ideas of what it may be?

When I was little, life seemed like one long summer day,
But now, art in the sky promises rain.
When Mount Garcia dons his sobrero, you can usually expect rain.
April rain streams out from my neighbor’s rooftop.
But a rainbow soon promises
and produces, sun

And color vanished from the world as it was covered by snow….
as well as icicles which in the heat of the sun, melted slowly away.
Everchanging weather–either a blessing or a curse.
