Love this pink bud stage even more than the white blossoms on my huge jade plant that came to me from my friend Chuy, who led us on many fine adventures before he departed this plane. Chuy, you come to life again every time this gorgeous plant blooms.

When the candle in the middle of my birthday donut was lit, it lit seven more candles which opened into this lotus flower and played “Happy Birthday to You” over and over until the copper wire was cut. It was a gift from my friend Jane who had visited from the states a few months before but who couldn’t be here for my birthday. Now how’s that for a flower?????

I have no idea what this flowering vine that covers the wall between my house and the street is. It is rather nonassuming in color and shape, but nonetheless fills a space.
The plants in the front garden have gotten so tall that it’s easier to view them from below than the top or the side. This canopy includes napa palms and hibiscus. A bit further on is a golden shower tree, royal poinciana, orchids and more palms and bougainvillea.
