Busy Day

These were just a few of the projects dealt with today. Too tired to finish cleaning up the last two messes!!

The Turning Point, for Lens Artist Challenge #396

“…That big hour of decision, the turning point in your life… it just doesn’t come suddenly. You’ve trained yourself for it while you waited — or you’ve let it all run past you and frittered yourself away.” ( From “The Autumn Garden” by Lillian Hellman.)

I love this quote and have it taped to my computer desk, actually.  This was the best I could do at illustrating it. I really to believe that everyone has some creative talent within but we just have to find it by “doing” and letting it come out.

For Lens Artists Challenge #396 the assignment is to illustrate a favorite quote.

Turkish Proverb, as True today as when first written.

I am sorry that I don’t know where I first read this. It just popped up on my desktop. Perhaps I have been possessed by a wise Turkish spirit.

“Patience” for Last on the Card

For Last on the Card,

Spoilage of Rain

Spoilage of Rain

Glistening raindrop diamonds settle on the fur
of the chairbound sleeping cat, but it does not stir.
Pies upon the window ledge grow soggy in the mist
of that travesty of moisture with which they have been kissed.
My stationery soggy, I find my words won’t stay,
so I give up on this poetry fast fading away.

The Thursday Story Challenge is:

Can you tell a story in 57 words using the following words in it somewhere: (I did a 57 word poem instead of a story.)

  • CAT
  • PIES
  • TRAVESTY
  • DIAMONDS
  • CHAIR
  • STATIONERY

It takes a community to claim and tame a puppy–Wonderful news. The puppies have all been adopted!!!! I am so happy.

First of all, Fabi , whose family adopted and named Bonita, brought her over to play with her sisters.

Then , the next day, Oscar came over to bond with Chloe and Cookie. (Yes, in the process of  their various adventures, Chloe and Cookie got names, too, at least to tide them over until their new families claim them. They are still up for grabs!!!)

And then in the afternoon, neighbors Caro and Diego came over to work their magic. Chloe and Cookie bonded immediately with Diego, and rapidly after with his mom. Such a joy watching them. Diego is the one who came up with the name Cookie and it was perfect, because although Diego had no knowledge of it, another neighbor, Dolores, had come over the first day I had them with a box full of non-chocolate cookies and their biggest fan when they were dispensed in small pieces over the course of a week, was, you guessed it..the dog who would come to be named Cookie!

Thanks to these kind friends and neighbors, the pups have slept without a bark, whimper or growl so far tonight. As worn out as I am. If it were not for wanting to tell you this story, I, too, would be sound asleep…Call 331-860-5304 if you would like to give one of these puppies a home..or even to visit them!

For Sunday Whirl Wordle 752

Heaven Scent

I rifle through my pocketbook, looking for perfume,
needing that hypnotic spell delivered by its spume.
I love its steamy radiance hissing against my skin,
and I’m swaying with the flush of the admirers I’ll win.
A beetle flies up from the  grass to brush against my cheek,
but it’s not exactly the admirer I seek.
Then my lover drifts into the room from where he went,
drawn back , I am certain, by my heavenly scent.

Prompts for the Sunday Whirl 752 are: rifle grass flush steam radiance beetle perfume drifted swaying hypnotic hiss skin

Thursday Trios

I was intrigued by these light patterns on the floor at the last Posada Reading.  Also these lightbulbs hanging from three different strings on the terrace. The adopted sister of my two houseguests (awaiting adoption) came to visit today and they had such fun.
