Is one bougainvillea starting to look like all the others? If so, I’ll give them a rest for awhile, but could’t resist snapping another flower within a (seeming) flower.

The cannas are at their very best right now and I took dozens of shots of them yesterday, but this is my favorite. Hopefully they weren’t all battered by tonight’s wind and rain.

This tabachine bush was covered with butterflies, but they are almost impossible to photograph. They are constantly lighting for a few seconds and then flying off, circling, lighting––but never long enough to get much more than a blue. I felt fortunate to get one good shot.

I can’t get enough of these Spanish Dancer Hibiscus. There is a new one every few days on the bush I have to pass to get to my garage.

The above photo was taken two days ago. Today, this is what it looks like:
The Spanish dancer has folded her skirts.

This little flower, tiny and non-assuming, deserved a makeover. I’ll try to reclaim her “before photo” in a minute and share it with you, as well.
Poor little thing. Tiny, out of focus, a bit shriveled up, hidden by denser foliage. I’ll try to do better by her tomorrow.

I found two of these gorgeous long clusters hanging down from a tree near the entrance to the house. Yolanda says it has been there for 14 years, but I have never noticed the blooms before. How could this be? It is so shaded by the Poinciana tree that it hasn’t leafed out below. This bloom cluster was higher up where it could get some sun. Amazing. It has a long skinny pistil that curves up. If you click on the photos, you’ll be able to see it. Thanks to Gaya for identifying it for me.

Okay, I know that this is not the bloom of the echeveria, but I love them as much as any flower and I think they look like a really exotic flower, so here this lady is in all her blushing splendor. E
