Sun Rose: FOTD, Nov 23. 2020

Yolanda tells me that the name for this little succulent flower in Mexico is “pistãnas de mi suegra” Which means “the eyelashes of my mother-in-law!”  Ha. Much more colorful than “sun rose.”  This bee doesn’t care what we call them, however.

State of the Poinsettias: FOTD Nov 22, 2020

As you can see by enlarging the photos avove, the poinsettias in the planter next to my bedroom have increased in size and hue since I first showed them a week or so ago. They are never going to turn red but will get more of a peach coloration in the next few weeks.

Hibiscus: FOTD, Nov 16, 2020

Happy Birthday, Mother.
This half-opened hibiscus is as close to a peony as I could get for you.

(I never see peonies without thinking about my mother, as she had planted them all along the walk between our back door and garage. Today would have been my mother’s 112th birthday. I don’t have a photo of my mother’s peonies, but see Cee’s glorious  and timely peonies HERE.)
