Little Duck’s Adventures: Cee’s Odd Ball Challenge 2016, Week 30

Little Duck had many adventures at my house before flying off to live in Missouri.  These are the few adventures I caught him in.

I told Little Duck smoking would stunt his growth, but he never listens to me.
He told me he could quit cold turkey anytime he wanted to, but. . .
I don’t quite think he understood the concept.
I finally hid his tobacco and papers, but I didn’t bother to hide this bottle because I knew he couldn’t reach it anyway. But he outsmarted me. Big Duck scorns in the dark background.
Then he decided he’d found religion, but I couldn’t convince him that Catholics don’t really believe in the concept of totem poles and that especially in Mexico, someone was bound to consider it as sacrilegious.
When Big Duck offered to edit his work, Little Duck insisted on staying annoyingly close as he read.
So, Little Duck decided to explore a bit. The recumbent nude bronze seemed to him like a pony ride created just for him.
Playing “king of the mountain” is no fun at all if you have no one to lord it over.
He had a few adventures in the kitchen as well.
He thought he’d make some breakfast, but no one told him that a watched toaster never pops up.
He thought if he got closer, it might help.
and for once, he was right.
Next he thought he would supervise Yolanda, making sure she got her pieces evenly measured.

Eventually, Little Duck got to leave his house for the first time to attend a reading. Here he is with Big Duck and the friend who gave him to Big Duck for his birthday.
He was sure Big Duck would enjoy his close company as a means of overcoming the jitters, …
Here he is teaching Big Duck to accent his reading with fine gestures. As you can see above, Big Duck didn’t follow his advice.
Perhaps he’ll have more success in teaching the dog to quack.

The Long and the Short of It

Here are two very nice people from my past with whom I became reacquainted at my all class reunion last week.  I love this photo. She was actually a year ahead of him in school and they hadn’t seen each other in more that 50 years.  I talked Gordon into going to the reunion and from the looks of it both he and his wife Judy had a great time.  He is a gentle giant who bakes peach pies with his granddaughter and who doesn’t remember how he used to tease us shy Freshman girls when he was a mighty senior basketball star.

I love this shot. How could she look any happier with her day? There is obviously something up there that everybody’s a bit interested in, but strange that every person or group is looking in a different direction–but all up!  This is on a boat–a concert excursion that was a fundraiser to send a little girl to music camp in the States.  She got home today.  Can’t wait to hear how it went.

This candid shot was taken at an open mike.  I love the effect of the sun shining through the plastic wall behind him, creating a scrim effect  and revealing the lush growth outside.

This little girl looks like she’s being held in a vise grip! Those letters spelling out “Chapala” near the pier make for a great photo opportunity.

I swear this is not a setup!  I came in, tossed some change down on the desk and opened my computer.  After working for a few minutes, I looked down and this is what I saw.  Luckily my camera was handy just a few steps away.  What are the chances that the coin would balance itself on edge like this???? Again..I couldn’t balance it if I tried.  My friendly desk poltergeists had a hand in it.
