Here are the Fibbing Friday questions for this week:

1. What is rolling stock? Cattle after they’ve been loaded onto train cars and the train is in motion.
2.  What is a rolling deck ?  A convenient place for rolling doobies on your lap during a poker game.
3.  What is role play ? When actors mess around instead of learning their lines.
4.  What is ‘on a roll? Caraway or sesame seeds, unless it’s a cinnamon roll, in which case it would be frosting.
5.  What does a rolling stone gather?  Carsick groupies.
6.  What is a rolling boil? Whole crab served on a train.
7.  What is a rolling pin? A really bad bowling score.
8.  What is a steam roller? A passé method of curling one’s hair.
9.  What is a roller coaster? A round disk meant to be placed under your drink that has been positioned vertically rather than horizontally.
10. What is a roller skate? A beached fish.

These are this week’s questions for Fibbing Friday: 

  1. What is an Arnold Palmer?  A golf groupie who can’t keep her hands to herself.
  2. What is a niblick?  An avid writer who is so intent on the tale that she is composing that she forgets that she’s writing with a pen and not a pencil. Licking the pen doesn’t have the same result.
  3. What is a mashie? A potato. The one being mashed.
  4. What’s the difference between a hook and a slice?  One is a pirate and the other is a piece of pizza. The two are not often compared.
  5. What name is given to a single hole score of three under par? An insufficiently stocked vaccination clinic.
  6. What’s a bogey?  Lauren BaCall’s pet name for Humphrey Bogart. Also her pet name for a baloney sandwich.
  7. What’s the difference between a regular golf course and an executive golf course? The dress code.
  8. What unique award is given to the winner of the Masters Tournament? A copy of The Joy of Sex.
  9. Why do golf balls have dimples? No one knows. That’s why golfers scream “For?” before they swing at the ball.
  10. What is the 19th hole? The penultimate dimple on a golf ball.

  1. What exactly is a “rhetorical question?” A question posed by Scarlett Ohara to her husband.
  2. What is meant by a “hair’s breadth”? A hot-cross bun served to the Easter Bunny by a waitress with a speech impediment.
  3. How long is a “New York minute”? Exactly sixty seconds on Sixty Seconds Street.
  4. What does it mean to “fly by the seat of your pants”? It means your mother has starched your Levis before ironing them, thereby rendering them stiff as a board and un-enterable.
  5. What does “by the skin of your teeth” mean? It means someone didn’t adequately prepare the venison before cooking and serving it to you.
  6. What are “the dog days of summer”? They are a Bow Wow Pow Wow.
  7. What does it mean to “go ’round Robin Hood’s barn“? It’s an instruction to an architect by someone who objects to the square corners on his barn.
  8. What does it mean when a project “gets the green light”? That the yellow light and the red lights will be coming up in rapid progression.
  9. What does it mean to “eighty-six” something? You’ve just  pinned on their number for the Boston Marathon.
  10. What or where exactly is “file thirteen”? Between file twelve and eleven. It’s just slipped down and under a bit so it is hard to see.

  1. What is Groundhog Day all about? Some people just take up more than their fair share of space on this earth. This is our chance to tell them what we think of them.
  2. What is déjà vu? Every Thanksgiving Meal of your life.
  3. What is meant by the phrase, “Hindsight is always 20/20”? From this day forward, our past memories are going to be fixed on the year 2020. Much as we wish it were not so, we won’t be able to help ourselves.
  4. What are reruns? The second and subsequent ladders in silk stockings. Now a passé term.
  5. What does it mean to be redundant? Dying the roots of gray hair previously dyed brown.
  6. What word describes unnecessary repetition? Mississippi
  7. What is the name given to TV shows when they are shown again after their original air date? I Love Lucy
  8. What phrase is used when you you can look back at a situation and clearly see what should have been done? “Been there, should have done that!”
  9. What is the feeling that you have been somewhere or done something before called? “Been there, redone that!”
  10. What day supposedly determines how long winter will last based on a particular animal seeing or not seeing its shadow? October 13, Pet Obesity Awareness Day. For a wild animal, its shadow is its only mirror and can be a shocking sight after a winter of no exercise. Many a chubby beast, faced with the truth, retreats underground again.(Yes, it is a real holiday.)

  1. What musical group from the 1960s was known as “The Fab Four”?
    Four ladies from the Bronx who opened the first laundromat. They hummed while they worked. (They later did a commercial gig endorsing “Fab” laundry detergent.)
  2. What was the “British Invasion” in the 1960s?
    Petula Clark storming through “Downtown” New York City.
  3. What is Stephen King’s book, The Stand about? A summer job selling hot dogs.
  4. What was the TV show, Breaking Bad about?  A really bad dancer.
  5. Exactly who was Kilroy? A flasher bending over backwards next to a fence.
  6. What musical instrument is Phil Collins best known for playing? He and his brother Tom were noted for their prowess in creating music by wetting their fingers and running them around the tops of drink glasses in a Bronx bar. His brother was the better musician, so they named their signature drink after him–the Tom Collins. Phil later joined the Bronx Philharmonic and finally received his namesake.
  7. According to Genesis 1, what happened on the seventh day?  The Sun came out.
  8. What happened at the O.K. Corral? A so-so gunfight.

  1. Jonah wasn’t swallowed by a whale…he was swallowed by ennui. 
  2. Who (or what) could make even the fiercest pirate quake in his boots? The dentist.
  3. What did Huckleberry Finn have to really paint?  Aunt Polly’s toenails.
  4. What is the best food that can be paired with red wine? Spam.
  5. What are you wearing on the sun? A sun bonnet.
  6. Why do dogs chase after cars? In hopes of a ride.
  7. What did the cat say to its kitten about the humans? “These creatures were created to be our servants, kids, but be polite to them. Otherwise, they may spit in the food!!”
  8. Goldfish are not fish. What are they? Misspelled adjectives describing  golf aficionados.
  9. What would you rather do instead of sleeping? Play loud music at 3 in the morning to wake up sleepers.
  10. The Phantom didn’t haunt the Opera House…he haunted the  Smart TV.
  11. What is the most intelligent life form on Earth? Cats.  (Had to tell the truth on this one.)
  12. Why did we really go to school? To get to the other side.
  13. What did teachers do during recess? Smoked doobies and played poker.
  14. How did you get to school? Pogo Stick and Parachute.
  15. What was life like before the Internet? It was a magazine back then as well.
  16. What is the best thing about social media? It is non-mandatory.
  17. What is your favorite thing to put chocolate sauce on? Pizza
  18. Doctors were all wrong…humans don’t need water. What do they need? Handi-wipe Pre-moistened Towels.
  19. Dolphins are not mammals. What are they? Those that aren’t mammals are poppals.
