I spotted an incredible full sun just before sunset, ran in to get my camera and when I got outside again, it said the SD card was locked!! Grrrr. Ran in to get my phone and the sun had already gone down in the couple of minutes it took me to get back outside. I got about 20 good shots, even though it was mainly down, but couldn’t get them culled out farther than this. We’ve had gorgeous sunsets lately. Click on photos to enlarge.

Happy 6th Anniversary, Becca’s Sunday Trees.
Chapala Sunset
Everyone keeps asking if the earthquake and hurricane had any effect on our weather here. I can’t notice that it has, other than a week of rain during earlier hurricanes and tropical storms last week, but this sunset two nights ago is perhaps the result, somehow, of bad weather farther away. I have not augmented the colors. They were really this brilliant!!! These photos were taken over a 15 to 20 minute time period from my deck.

“Golden Hour” A Photo a Week Challenge
On the west coast of Mexico, sunset is indeed a golden experience. I especially like the way the ocean tides reflect the colors of the sunsets. You’ll need to click on the first photo to see these all in a larger size and in better detail.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Summer Fire
At the end of every summer, they burn weeds off the mountain. These are photos of both the mountain afire

and the lot next to my house. Good thing construction is almost entirely concrete and red tile roofs here. Well, except for the palapas which always seem to escape unscathed.

And, of course, there is the biggest fire of summer, here shown going down. Click on any photo to enlarge all.

Sunset Susurration
The murmuration of the waves, the breeze’s gentle rush,
the small stain of the setting sun, spread by nature’s brush.
The yellow of her pallet, bold orange and red and pink
complicate the skyline as we watch the sun’s orb sink
like a flame-red new-cast penny set upon the ledge
of that calmer ocean on the horizon’s edge.
See it slip so quickly into the ocean’s slot,
making us forget for now all that we are not.
All of life’s frustrations, all misbegotten schemes,
are flushed into the water to sink into its seams.
This is why we gather to watch the sunset’s beauty.
every single evening—as though it were a duty.
The prompt today was murmuration.
Sunset at Cambry Woods
Sunset at Cambry Woods
In the forest, wild and lush,
hear the music of the thrush
break the stillness of the brush.
If else disturbs it, make it hush,
for we have fled the world’s mad crush
with all its craziness and rush
that grinds sensation into mush,
distilling it as mindless slush.
The world flares up, the clouds are plush
as we see all its bloodshed flush
into the sunset’s subtle blush.
The prompt today was lush.
