“Kitty See, Kitty Do” for Stumbled Upon

How many times have you stumbled upon a photo you absolutely love that doesn’t fit under any prompt classification? It happened to me today and try as I might, I couldn’t find any prompt to use it with, so I’ve decided to establish another prompt, “Stumbled Upon.”  There is no set timeline or date for the prompt. I just invite you to use it when needed.. When, looking for photos for another prompt, you stumble upon an absolute long-forgotten favorite, send it on down and link to this post.

Years ago, someone dumped a box with four tiny kittens in it by my garage door. You can see them all  HERE if you weren’t following me back then.  Needless to say, that day I acquired 4 darling, inquisitive and very active new boarders. My old cat, incensed, moved out, only to come inside again months later when the kittens were inoculated, neutered and safe to be let out of the house. Then she moved back in, but kept her distance.  They, however, claimed the entire house as their own and especially loved the shelves and drawers of the guest bathroom, that they could explore at will, since there was a wide enough space between these shelves and the wall to allow them access to all the drawers, which became their hide-and-seek playgorund as well as an excellent spot for a snooze away from it all. I love the contrast between the live kitten and the sculpture made by a blind artist in Oaxaca.

After the Earthquake: Still Life with Cat

Kukla and Ollie’s usual resting place on the garage counter has been taken over by Jesus and Eduardo who are repainting the murals on my rebuilt walls. As usual, this cat knows the perfect pose for every situation and scene.

Kalanchoe: FOTD Dec 15, 2022

After Zoe ate or dug up all my Kalanchoe, I vowed not to get any more but I couldn’t resist these, and they are in the front yard which is the domain of the cats. No dogs allowed, usually, unless Paciano leaves the gate open. Now, why the photo of Kukla when she was tiny? Oddly enough, when I checked my media file to make sure I hadn’t used this photo of the kalanchoe yet, I found that her photo had the exact same number! How this happens I don’t know, but since the cats leave the kalanchoe alone, I decided she could stay.

Morning Garden Walk: For FOTD Sep 1, 2022

I took a walk around the front of the house to find “a” photo for today’s FOTD. Kukla accompanied me (without invitation) and photobombed numerous shots, most of which I deleted. As usual, I had trouble making up my mind, so here are a “few” of the shots. Click on photos to enlarge.

I ended at the east gate to the backyard.

See Cee’s beautifully composed flower pic HERE.

For Kukla

Kukla, the ring leader of the four one-month-old kittens left on my doorstep 15 months ago and the first to drive my 16-year-old cat Annie away from her food dish to claim it as her own, has not shown up for meals for the third day in a row.  I think it is significant that for the past five meals, her siblings have left 1/4 of the food in their communal food dish for her.  I share their hopes that she will return.
