I spotted this magnificent lone tree on the road between Morehouse, Missouri and Huntsville, Alabama.

Nothing like a little rest in the shade of a few palm trees!

This is Annie––once in the majority but now grossly outnumbered by dogs in the house.

There is something about this photo of a tree peeking over my sister’s neighbor’s roof that I just like. Perhaps it is the cloud’s echo of the tree’s shape, or the juxtaposition of the nearly horizontal hard straight line of the eaves trough to the softer vertical shapes of the tree and cloud.. or just the colors. More likely a combination of all of these elements.

I saw this cloud/jet trail combination from where I sat at an outside mall restaurant. I jumped up and tried out several locations, but decided I liked this view the best. This is my favorite type of palm tree.. such a beautifully sculpted trunk. It gives a bit of texture to this otherwise pretty smooth scene.

Remember when padded envelopes used to be filled with the fuzzy stuff? That was kapok. It was also used as packing material. This is where it comes from!

These gnarly old trees on a backroad that runs up to the carretera between Jocotepec and Ajijic seemed to me to be dancing. Please click on them to enlarge the photos.

Royal Poinciana Trees (Flamboyan or Flame Trees)
I posted closeups and flower clusters of this tree for the past two days and now here is the tree itself. I couldn’t decide which pic I liked the best so I chose a few. I love this tree. Messy but gorgeous. Last year the leaf cutter ants pretty much ate all the leaves and flowers but this year it bloomed in all its glory.
