Yes, contrary to what we might all think, chilies, along with tomatoes, zucchinis, okra and eggplants, are fruits, not vegetables.
I was trying so hard to photograph this Wandering Jew flowering on the wall ledge between my front and back yard, but Frannie kept jumping up to interfere. Four times, she jumped up on the ledge and stuck her face between me and the plants I was trying to photograph, even following me into the dread back yard, where she drew the unfriendly attention of Morrie and Diego. The back yard is a cat-free area, or so it is decreed to be by the dogs, so when she followed me back and jumped down from the wall, I had to rescue her. Still again, she strayed into their turf, this time remaining on the wall. This is the story, in photos. Please click on the first photo to see the whole slide series enlarged. Went on a big photo safari this afternoon with my new camera. Yay! Get ready for lots of flower shots. The plumeria is still hanging in there in spite of all the wind and rain lately. At one point it will be completely leafless as well as flowerless, but thriving now. Luckily, I have a variety that is odorless I or would have had to have cut it down years ago. I passed under a tree in Chapala the other day and nearly passed out. I’m so allergic to their scent.

I’ve never seen a hibiscus like this before. It looks triple-layered.

I keep thinking I’m not going to publish another photo of a hibiscus, and then I find one of a different shape or color, and fall off the wagon like addicts often do! I dedicate this bloom to Cee’s one-millionth view.
