Pretty in Pink
Found this little charmer along the street in La Manzanilla yesterday.
Just right for Cee’s challenge.

Dusty Petals
There are not an excessive number of flowers in La Manzanilla, but I found these little blooms down the street in a strip of soil near the curb, well-dusted by traffic on the sandy pavers. If anyone knows what they are, please let me know.

Morrie Gets a Pedicure, and Other Burnt Orange Delights.

Yes, I was surprised that Morrie took so well to being pampered with an on-site bath, blow-dry, grooming and pedicure. (This enterprising young man has started a business where he comes to your house to groom and wash your dog. He seems to be popular as he was booked solid for a week. Fortunately, he had an appointment with a dog a block away from me so although I’m 5 km. out of town, he just worked me in after his other appointment.) Morrie was a bit rank. Hated to leave him with the house sitter in that condition. And yes, I was proud of the boy. And yes, he immediately went down and rolled in the dirt and the grass. A fella’s gotta have some pride, much as he seemed to enjoy the attention.

Yellow!!!
Finally!!!! I’ve been saving this one for this challenge for weeks now and keep bringing it up from my desktop. I’ve never seen a yellow poinsettia before and think it probably changed from green to yellow to white or some other color, but I loved it at this stage!! So glad to finally be able to use it. I promise no more poinsettias for awhile. Well, unless there’s a really neat one!!! Backsliding already.
Since my flower bank was completely empty, I went out and took dozens of shots of different flowers today, but at I was going through them––cropping, sharpening, nudging this way and that––this is the one that most captured my interest. So, here it is––a photo so evocatively personal that I feel as though I’m invading the plant’s privacy in sharing it. This is a purple/blue Thunbergia Grandiflora undressed. Its petals have fallen to ground leaving other beauties exposed. Soon there will be a new bud for a new year that I wish you happiness in!!
